Home › A380 Aluminum Die Casting
A380 is the cosmetic alloy of our casting range — the grade behind the polished and lacquer-coated die castings in the manufacturer's product line, and half of the ADC12/A380 flagship casting.

A380 is not a promise on a datasheet here — it is in the product names. The range includes a custom A380 aluminum alloy die casting supplied polished with a lacquer coating, and the flagship custom die casting part specified in ADC12 and A380 together. That tells a buyer two practical things: the alloy runs in regular production, and it runs in cosmetic applications where the surface before coating has to be good enough to polish.
Cosmetic castings are the demanding end of die casting. Every flow line and cold shut shows through a polished or lacquered finish, so gating, die temperature discipline and handling after ejection all matter more than on a part that disappears inside an assembly. A range that lists a polished A380 product is evidencing that discipline, not just the alloy.
Buyers often arrive with one of the two grades already on the drawing, inherited from a previous supplier or a legacy design. When the choice is open, the DFM review treats it as a real decision: both grades belong to the same production family here, but they are not interchangeable on paper — drawings, approvals and customer specifications may name one specifically. Our advice is procedural rather than metallurgical: keep the grade your end customer approved, unless the review finds a casting or finishing reason to change it, in which case the change is documented before tooling.
What this page deliberately does not do is publish property tables. The manufacturer's own product data names grades and finishes, not mechanical values — so this site follows the same discipline and leaves numerical property claims to the material certificates that accompany a real order.
The evidenced A380 finish route is polishing followed by lacquer coating — a combination that gives a bright metal look with a protective clear layer. Across the wider casting and machining range, powder coating and anodizing also appear, so a product family can mix cast A380 fronts with coated or anodized mating parts and still ship from one supplier. Specify the finish system on the drawing, including any colour reference for coated parts, and the quotation will price casting and finishing as one route.
Programmes in this family share one production skeleton: die design and build in the in-house mould division, casting on automatic machines, then trimming, any CNC work the drawing calls for, finishing, and CMM-checked release. Two habits keep programmes healthy. First, freeze the cosmetic-face and critical-dimension lists at sampling — they drive handling and inspection for the life of the part, and changing them mid-programme re-opens settled questions. Second, treat the die as the asset it is: it is designed, built and maintained by the same team, and its condition is reviewed as production accumulates, which is how year three of a programme stays identical to the approved first article.
Buyers transferring an existing part to this factory should say so at enquiry. A part with existing tooling, a part needing new tooling, and a part being re-specified from a sample are three different projects with three different first steps, and the review will name which one you have before quoting anything.
Tell us the material grade, quantity and finish you need for your A380 die casting parts. Our engineers review every drawing for die casting, machining or stamping feasibility before quoting — no obligation.
